FAQs
Do you accommodate multiple allergies?
1
Yes, however, depending on the amount of allergies and the amount of people with allergies that can limit the menu, I do charge extra for time and effort.
What if I don’t want to commit to a 1 year contract? Do you offer month by month services?
2
At this time I am only taking on clients that can commit to a 1 year contract, but the contract can be canceled at any time with a 4 week notice. I do at times take on month to month clients depending on where I am at in my cycle of weekly clients. Feel free to inquire if I am available for short term or month to month services.
Is sales tax included in my weekly rate?
3
Yes, sales tax is included. The current rate for Seattle is 10.55%
How can I contact you?

Catering FAQs
-
Usually not. Every event and venue space is different. I work with clients and what they have and we work together on getting everything we need. For smaller dinner parties, I can provide tablecloths, napkins, placemats. plates, tablescape items and more. For small events, including weddings, I have some chafing dishes, platters, serving bowls, serving utensils, paper napkins, etc. For larger events/weddings, I provide the client with a list of things I will need for a smooth running service.

Sometimes there is a room available for me at the places my clients rent out (especially if it’s a multi day event) and sometimes I find my own accomodation. I usually charge $100 per night in my travel expenses for accommodation for Orcas, other locations may require a higher per night rate depending on hotel/air bnb availability.

For island events, you need to book as soon as possible. There are only a few caterers around that do larger events and as far as I know, I am the only experienced one that does the smaller events under 60ppl. So demand is high and dates book fast. Since I live in Seattle and cook weekly for clients, I tend to only take on events on Fridays and Saturdays, although I make occasional exceptions for certain events/budgets. Even booking a year out is recommended. It is very difficult to accommodate an event over 8ppl with only 2 weeks notice. Please plan accordingly. The islands are heavily visited, especially from June to September and most restaurants, airbnbs’ and caterers are booked the whole summer by June 1st and won't be able to take on large parties over 12ppl.

Upon booking, I require a third of the total cost as a deposit. Depending on how much time there is upon booking and the event will determine what amount of your deposit you will receive in the event of a cancellation. For example if you book Jan. 1st and your event is July 20th. You would pay ⅓ for deposit, let’s say $1500 and have until July 1st to provide final head count and remainder of costs. If you cancel anytime between Jan. 2nd and April 1st, you would receive $700. Anytime after that up until July 1st, you would receive $300.

I have a few people I work with, but may go through other channels to provide service. For larger events or multiple day ones, I sometimes ask the client to find a company that hires out servers. I am mostly in touch with sous chefs and a handful of servers in both Seattle and Sand Juan Islands.

Smaller catering companies pay more attention to details and higher quality of food instead of using the majority of their food from Costco or companies like Sysco. I guarantee fresh, quality ingredients, small details throughout service that make a big impact and a commitment to go above and beyond. I love to create memorable experiences for my clients and want to see them enjoying themselves as much as possible during their special events or vacations. I truly care about people, their needs, wants and happiness. Helping small businesses, especially women owned ones is strongly needed these days. I :hope will support us in making your day an unforgettable one!
